Produce Warehouse Manager Night (1 position ) and Day (1position)

We are a full line-full service Produce Distributor serving Southern California from our state of the art facility in the Los Angeles, CA area.

We are currently searching for a Produce Warehouse/Operations Manager to join our team.

 

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • The Warehouse Operations Manager provides direction and management of warehouse operations.
  • Ensures efficient inbound and outbound movement of product.
  • Ensures perishable product is rotated to minimize spoilage of product and ensures product is brought to production rooms in a timely manner.
  • Manage warehousing/storage of all raw product, supplies finished product and other material.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, rotate stock as required.
  • Ensure all equipment is in safe and operating status, ensures any issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
  • Supervise forklift operators and preform evaluations.
  • Conduct training and safety meetings as necessary, conduct disciplinary action as needed.
  • Preform other duties as assigned by plant manager.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position shall have supervisory responsibilities over the warehouse personnel. Responsibility for efficiency, scheduling and safety of warehouse personnel.

 

Skills:

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to organize strategies and trends to communicate with others by various means including; verbal and electronic presentations. Bi Lingual (English/Spanish) highly desired.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to maintain adequate inventories while maintaining in-stock conditions at store level.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access). Ability to read computer generated reports.

Routing/Dispatcher

As we continue to expand our business, we are seeking Routing/Dispatcher to help us keep up with demand for our products and service for our customers. The Routing/Dispatcher position has the potential to offer the right person an opportunity for advancement within the company. JOB SUMMARY:

The Routing/Dispatcher position will be in constant contact with high profile customers; routing drivers, scheduling pickup and delivery appointments, maintaining customer container pools, updating the Terminal Management System, and monitoring driver performance.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Handle all incoming calls and deal directly with drivers, management and directly with customers.
  • Route and Properly dispatch drivers for prompt deliveries.
  • Data entry of pertinent information regarding orders into our transportation management system (TMS)
  • Maintain an accurate dispatch board in TMS.
  • Monitor all shipments to insure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate onsite reports for each account.
  • Help support our customer’s unique delivery needs.
  • Call drivers and update all driver activity in TMS, in real time.
  • Research all unfinished loads in TMS daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 years of Transportation support (Dispatch) experience preferred.
  • Produce industry experience a major plus.
  • Excellent computer skills. (Access, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.)
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written customer service/communication skills. Bilingual is preferred
  • Familiar with trucking terminology,
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage priorities, workflow, and a high level of responsibility.

 

Major Plus: Understanding DOT Compliance, FMCSA, DQ Administration, Emodal and UIIA

Box Truck

Job Description: BOX TRUCK DRIVER

Efficiently deliver produce to customers, follow driver safety rules and provide professional customer service. Assist in the warehouse loading trucks, palletizing product, pulling orders and performing other duties at the request of the Supervisor or Manager.

      • Unload goods as per client specifications
      • Review deliveries with customers to ensure products meet their needs
      • Obtain delivery confirmations from each customer

      Must Fit The Following Criteria:

      • Valid Class C License
      • Minimum 1 year experience as Driver
      • 1 point or less on driving record
      • Strong customer service skills
      • Must possess a positive and professional attitude
      • Bilingual a plus but not mandatory (Spanish / English)
      • Must be comfortable working nights

Food Safety and Quality Control Manager

Job Description: 

Natures Produce has a career opportunity available for a bilingual, talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Food Safety and Quality Control Manager for their Vernon, CA facility. The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years plus prior experience in Quality or Food Safety related field.  This individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining and validating all food safety policies and procedures including but not limited to, Natures Produce’s internal programs.  Working knowledge of HACCP development, SQF documentation, and SOP development is required.

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to conduct internal and third party food safety audits with various organizations. Qualified individuals will enjoy working in our fast paced environment and have the ability to effectively communicate and work well with other.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

The primary role of the Food Safety Manager is to develop, maintain and validate all food safety policies and procedures, SQF level III, Regulatory and internal programs.

  • HACCP development, validation and on-going maintenance of the program to push continuous improvement
  • Develop, review and update Standard Operating Procedures
  • On the floor verification of all food safety programs and SQF SOP’s
  • Provide support to other department managers in audit projects and corrective actions
  • Monitor and support all Food Safety Program activities (environmental, micro, foreign material, pest control, etc.)
  • Ensure the Organic certification program is maintained up-to-date
  • Conduct Food Safety audits internally as well as with third party inspectors such as FDA, County, City, Organic, Kosher, SQF level III and customer audits
  • Manage the QA Crew Leads and job structuring of the QA technicians to prioritize necessary checks and data utilization
  • Maintain SQF documentation up-to-date with current version updates
  • Review and report on the data within the customer complaint system on a weekly basis for SQF program validation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs and presentations in both English and Spanish
  • Various projects and research programs

 

Requirements: 

  • Experience in QA and Food Safety, or formal food safety training
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills and detail oriented
  • Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications
  • Certification and strong application skills in HACCP, SQF level III, GMP’s and SSOP’s
  • Quick to learn customized systems such as Infinity, Extraview and Axapta

Warehouse Worker/Order Fulfillment / Pre-Loader

Job Description:

Natures Produce has a career opportunity available for a motivated individual to join our team as Warehouse Worker/Order Fulfillment/Pre-Loader for their Vernon, CA facility. Qualified individuals will enjoy working in our fast-paced environment and have the ability to effectively communicate and work well with other.

In this position, you will play an important role in the Company’s operations. Your primary role is to build orders efficiently and accurately in a way that meets the customer’s on-time delivery requirements. You will have a range of product knowledge, to be able to routinely verify the quality of the product. You also must be able to effectively utilize the Company’s computer system, and the radio frequency bar code scanners for the picking, building, and loading of orders.

  • Pick, build, and load orders
  • Effective pallet building to maximize space and protect product
  • Excellent communication with Working Foreman to ensure that on-time delivery requirements are met

Job Description:
  • Experience with ProducePro software is a plus
  • Good customer service experience or skills
