The Goldrush Apple is a cultivar of eating apple that originated in 1980s Indiana.
Appearance and Flavor
The fruit has a complex spicy flavor with high acidity and sweetness. Acidity moderates in cold storage, with exceptional quality after 2 to 3 months.
History
The original seedling was planted in May 1973 in the HE block on the Purdue Horticulture Research Farm, West Lafayette, Indiana, based on the Golden Delicious apple.
