Pixie Sweets, a cross of cherries and plums, are small-fruited, very sweet plums with cherry ancestry, bred by Zaiger’s Genetics in an 18-acre orchard grown by Warmerdam Packing in Hanford, Calif.
Pixie Sweet, demeanor like little reddish plums, an inch and a quarter in diameter. The flesh is yellow-amber, with dual revealing cherry features, a pinkish ring underneath a skin and a really little seed. It would take imagination to detect cherry in a flavor, though developed examples are really sweet, abounding and fruity, with a clear something extra.
