28 Jul MARKET REPORT – July 28, 2024
Wong Farms should start to have a better inventory this week and stop limiting us to 2 cs.
Garden Of Mixed Carrots have returned to the market
Scott Farm as begun his Tiger Figs and I expect Murray Farms to have them this week or the following.
Murray continues to expand the varieties of grapes available each week. Lots of interesting flavors. Finger style grape should come around soon as well.
Reiger Farms has some very special peaches called Baby Crawfords. The trees are only 5 years old so he has low production. They are also very delicate and bruise easy. If you would like to preorder speak your rep about costing as these run higher than Andy’s Orchard. There will only be up to 10cs available at best. I have a few cases left on hand as well. These have incredible flavor and are perfectly ripe. The sweetness of a canned peach in fresh format. They are also a freestone variety.
His next main yellow peach will be the Ohenry in about 2 weeks.
Blenheim Apricots are now done for the season, and Scott does not have on his list for next week for any type of Cot.
Scott Farms has a lot of varieties of plums/pluots and we are buying a 3 -5 types each week. Elephant heart is on the list as well as honey punch and we will be getting some this week. The emerald beauts are still going strong for those that still want the green skin/yellow flesh
Beylik has a lot of their peppers available, but as far as other types especially Jimmy Nardello the heat has been affecting production. Neither flora bella, weiser, or country Rhodes has. Country Rhodes told me today he expects a lot in the fall when it cools down.
