07 Mar Market Report – March 7, 2022
Spring veg is slowly making its way into the market. English peas and sugar snaps are plentiful with more to come from other farms. Fava beans in the not too distant future (with the possibility of a little this coming week).
We are hoping to be bringing in Local Delta Asparagus from the Delta Queen label (this label is the same exact land that used to be Zuckerman Family Farms which now contracts out with Delta Queen to sell their product at markets up north). We will have more details by end of next week on when this will begin. I was told last season that this includes the super colossal sizing Zuckerman was famous for!
There is limited local asparagus available from Suncoast and Mendoza Farms on Wednesdays
Next fruit to be expected is more blueberries, strawberries, mulberries, then cherries! I have not asked Murray for his expected first pick day, but last season his first day was 4/14
Regier Farms peach outlook is approx. 16 weeks from a first pick depending on weather.
Chicories have totally faded out at the market and even conventional Castelfranco is coming up short right now.
Weiser Russian Fingerlings will not be available until sometime next month
On a crappy note we are in the next gapping of lettuces The Garden Of warned us about during the previous gapping. It will be a 2 or 3 weeks possibly before they are back to full production. Coleman farms will be ultra limited with everyone trying to buy from them. IF you want from coleman try to order with us as early as possible, so I can be one of the first in line.
Please order conventional T&a gems , babes farm gems, or 60ct gem hearts as subs for you market gem.
Please use T&A mix artisan lettuce heads as a sub for the Mixed Salanova.
