29 Sep MARKET REPORT – September 29, 2024
Cuyama Orchards has returned with apples this week and See Canyon has some other varieties they did not have week prior.
As fall continues to arrive at the market we will have some stuff ending their season.
Tenerelli Orchards is expecting this to be their final week. We have yellow peaches from them on hand and will get what we can this week.
Scott farms has maybe 2 weeks left. The plum varieties has dropped down to just 2 kinds and next week there may only be one.
Weiser Farm Melons are coming to a close slowly. The main variety they seem to have is the sweet and sour Bonny so they were not willing to build mixes for us this weekend. In light of that I was able to get some mixes off of Munak Ranch and will possibly do the same with them on Wednesday. Be aware they are also coming to the close of their season on melons.
As for Sungold tomatoes Munak is doing their best to fill our orders twice a week at the moment. The shift in weather has slowed the plants down, but they expect to have tomatoes into November.
The fancy raspberries at 2 peas in a pod have come to a close. While some may be available their quality has dropped greatly.
With the cooler weather chicory season has arrived with things like escarole showing up and Garden of now has Castelfranco.
Speaking of lettuce the Garden of is still playing catch up in the fields. We are expecting to have their Salanova mix back in stock for Thursday. The red gem will continue to be unavailable this coming week.
Frog Hollow Warren Pears will be available beginning this coming Saturday! We will also have some beautiful Pomegranates from them and maybe some Emerald Beaut plums to finish of our plum season.
